Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course
This course is recognised by the American Heart
Association, accredited by the Irish Heart Foundation, and
is essential for many health-care professionals.

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course
presents the skills and didactic information needed to handle
a cardiac arrest, events that may lead to a cardiac arrest,
and events that follow a cardiac arrest. The core of this
course is the management of the first few minutes of a witnessed,
adult,ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest. Other essentials
of the course are contained in the respiratory arrest, pulseless
and refractory ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation
treated with an AED,pulseless electricial activity, asystole,
acute coronary syndromes, bradycardia, stable tachycardia,
unstable tachycardia and acute stroke.
This course is validated by the American Heart
Association through the Irish Heart Foundation. Persons who
successfully complete the knowledge and skills evaluations
in accordance with the curriculum of this AHA course are eligible
to receive the ACLS Course completion card.
Guest speakers-experts in the fields of cardiology/resuscitation
hold seminars during the course to supplement and consolidate
practical skills acquired during ACLS training.
The intended audience for this course includes
emergency personnel in intensive care or critical care departments
and emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses,
emergency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists,
and other professionals whose jobs require completion of a
written evaluation and successful skill performance. Course
participants must have first completed Basic Life Support
Course.

days, and are conducted in excellent facilities.Hibernian
Healthcare acls courses are taught in a case-based learning
environment through small group work, with fully qualified,
enthusiastic acls instructors. Courses are offered nationwide
and can be conducted onsite. Places in the course must be
booked at least 3 weeks in advance since AHA requests receipt
of course material by participants 2 weeks before.
